India have struggled to find a solution to their death bowling conundrum. Against Bangladesh they went for a plenty during the final part of the innings. In the games against Sri Lanka and Pakistan the inability of the bowlers to strike came to the fore.

5 Middle-order

The Indian middle-order was without Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. This presented a golden opportunities for the youngsters to stake a claim in the side courtesy of good performances.

Before the start of the tournament there were speculations about who would bat at No.4. Indian team management went with Ajinkya Rahane and he scored a fine 73 in the first game against Bangladesh.

Ambati Rayudu was preferred over Cheteshwar Pujara in the three games so far. After gifting his wicket against Sri Lanka, Rayudu displayed enormous patience and discipline in his innings of 58 against Pakistan.

4 Ravindra Jadeja: The All-Rounder

Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round performances have been one of the highlights of the tournament for India. He bowled a superb spell against Sri Lanka which got India back in the game. Against Pakistan, Jadeja’s half-century powered India to 245.
